Master of Science in Dentistry - MScDentThe Master of Science in Dentistry is a research degree, conducted over a maximum period of five years from the date of first enrolment. Each candidate shall undertake an approved programme of supervised research and advanced study for the prescribed period, and at the conclusion of that period each candidate must present for examination a thesis incorporating the findings of the research work. Applicants for candidature are required to submit an outline of their proposed research project along with original transcripts of their complete academic record. Candidates for the degree are required to submit a thesis for examination. It is required that work submitted should not have been presented previously for a degree in this, or any other, University. Furthermore, it should show on the part of the candidate sound knowledge of the subject matter and some independence of thought, and be clearly and concisely written. The thesis is examined by two independent examiners, one of whom shall be an external examiner unless the Faculty shall determine otherwise. Award of the degree of Master of Science in Dentistry is dependent wholly on the completion of a satisfactory thesis. |
