School Leavers

Standard (School Leavers)

Standard applicants (School Leavers)  are defined as those who, no more than two years before the year for which entry is sought, qualified for entry to UWA by completing at least four subjects at the Western Australian Tertiary Entrance Examination (or interstate/New Zealand equivalent) over not more than two consecutive years.  Applicants must not have previously enrolled at any tertiary institution or, if they have enrolled, they must have withdrawn prior to obtaining a result.

Standard (School Leavers) Rural

An applicant is eligible for consideration as a rural standard applicant if he/she meets the following criteria:
a) has lived in the rural area of Western Australia for a minimum of two years and, during that period, completed Year 12 at a secondary school in the rural area, or
b) has lived in the rural area of Western Australia for a minimum of two years and completed TEE studies as a standard applicant through a local TAFE or Technical College and/or by Distance Education while residing in the rural area.
Any unallocated rural places are reallocated to the Standard quota.
Rural is defined as the area outside a radius of 75 kilometres from PerthCityCentre.

More details regarding entry procedures and quotas for different course entry types are available at: Pathways into Dentistry
