Oral Health Centre Accredited For 4 Years The Australian Council on Healthcare Standards has recently confirmed that OHCWA has been awarded a further four years accreditation. This follows a comprehensive assessment by a team of ACHS assessors of all areas of OHCWA's clinical services and administration. As stated by the ACHS in its advice to OHCWA "accrediation is a significant achievement as it serves as a sign to your community that your organisation is committed to delivering quality patient care and service". The contribution of all OHCWA staff and stakeholders to this important achievement is recognised and appreciated. Australian Dental Council Examinations In July 2008 OHCWA again hosted a round of the Australian Dental Council's examinations of overseas trained dentists. OHCWA now hosts these examinations twice each year and appreciates its involvement in this important process for the assessment and potential registration of dentists trained in other countries. Free Student Treatment The Oral Health Centre is always seeking suitable patients for dental treatment by the School of Dentistry's dental students. Treatment provided by students is closely supervised by experienced dentists throughout all treatment appointments. All treatment by 3rd and 4th year students is free of charge, but the treatment to be provided must be suitable for a student dentist. If you have a Healthcare or Pension Concession Card and are interested in getting more information about student treatment please ring 9346 4400. |
